I was torn on the last question as I didn't want anyone else to have one of these so I almost said no to tell a friend so I could kick butt in AutoX LOL

I voted, I was torn in the interior quality. While most of the int. parts are nice, for $25k I would expect just a bit more quality material.

Exactly, but I think the reason behind the plastic cheap material was to keep the weight of the car low.

I really would have liked to see some type of coating on the underside to cover the exposed paint. Especially the parts right in front of the rear wheels. Salt is gonna eat that away in no time.

i wash my car almost daily to keep the salt off as much as possible, especially now that i'm parking it indoors.

I have been impressed so far with how solid the ST feels. I was crossing between Las Vegas and Flagstaff on the 40...it is unbelievably rough. When I finally headed south towards Phoenix I still had no rattles or squeaks..............I can tell you the ST is not happy on that type of road.

My only gripe is when the window is down less than 1/3 the way, it rattles a bit. And I wish the MFT screen was a half inch bigger.
Other than that I love this car!

I've started to get little rattles here and here over the last week or two that only seem to show up around 1500 rpm. I get some clicking noise on the 1 to 2 shift that doesn't sound like linkage, and my boost piping got loose last week. All in all, its still fun and a cool little car. Gotta track down them noises!!

I have to agree that the only issue I have is the interior quality. I, too, think that they could've done better on a $25k car.

I have lived with my FiST for 5 months and thought it was time to add my quality issues to this thread. The first item is fairly minor...the outside mirror fit to the door has gaps that "bug" me every time I walk past the car. The gaps do NOT match between the two mirrors. Ford should have used a gasket at the mating surfaces for a finished look and probably reduce some wind noise at that location.

The second item is paint related...the factory did a paint repair in the area just below the fuel filler door and it is noticeable when looking at it from the left rear quarter view. I know silver is hard to color match, but the factory repair should have been better (before you ask...no, the dealer did not do the repair. It came off the transporter with the paint repair). Over time, the paint issue could become worse, so I had my brother look it over and he agreed this issue is NOT uncommon with cars that roll off the assembly line and some must have paint problems corrected before being released. He was surprised to see the quality of the repair and said it could be repainted, but to do it right, the whole panel needs to be painted. He also noticed the bumper did not exactly match the body...another fairly common problem when parts are painted at different locations. My brother cred...he is retired from GM (though a Ford fan) and has worked multiple jobs in assembly, water test, "shake and rattle", problem/resolution for new car launch, quality control and more. He is also a paint and body expert and works at a custom restoration shop where paint blending and color matching is taken seriously...basically he knows paint! The final advice...don't let the dealer touch it! So, I guess I can just let it go or pay for the "proper" fix myself.

I put down that the exterior build quality did indeed meet my expectations, but the paint. That paint is like...soft! My last fiesta had paint that could take a beating like hell. But with this fiesta I have gotten more chips in a month of owning it than I did on my 2011 Fiesta SES in almost a year. I don't know what it is. Is it because I am constantly going stupid fast? (In a controlled environment and in no way on public roads or highways...) Or because the paint on my 2011 was made for the tears of unicorns and glossed over with the nectar of the gods. That yellow blaze held up so damned good. But then this molten orange...I have a chip next to the headlight the size of an entire pea! A WHOLE PEA! AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

other than that, the car has surpassed my expectations. I had high ones as well. Very high expectations. Then I really felt what it could do. I will admit that I want the bigger brakes though. That's gonna be a sweet sweet day.

As for interior: I love the Recaros so much. Now any other car I get into feels like I'm sitting on a bench seat. The way that they hug you and keep you still. It's like the car is daring you to take that corner at twice the limit (which I never do by the way...).

Just so much about this car is great. It's the Fiesta I always wanted my SES to be...but it's not yellow. Oh and does anyone know how to remove the center console? I want to wrap it in carbon fiber. I don't like how it looks stock. It just feels cheap to me because it's this random gloss that clashes with the rest of the interior. It's probably just me.

Obviously the RMM had to be changed and it was so worth it so I guess if I had to dock it for the stock one I would, but 1 COBB RMM later and the engine isn't bouncing about and the shifts are so good. And that gearbox..it's like butter compared to my dads old VW bug.

MFT housing rattles like crazy... Worst plastic ever. Needs some dynamat or similar mass loading. Door latches appear non-adjustable, would like there to be less shitty latch noise when closing the door. My fiat had doors that closed like a sub zero fridge, the Ford latches sound terrible from day one. Otherwise the car has been a pleasure.
Install mud-flaps before your rocker panels get destroyed. When phone is plugged in, it'll randomly decide to connect audio through BT or the USB connection whenever it feels like, resulting in disconnecting and re-connecting the phone so BT audio cancels.

Clutch clicks a lot, linkage in all gears is crazy loud, and shifts are now really stiff and notchy. I don't and haven't ever power shifted this thing, and have never "launched" it, so.....pretty disappointed. Just passed 6k miles recently.

I love everything about it, but my god the paint. Before I could recover enough cash to have the front wrapped I ended up with 3 fairly sizeable chunks of paint missing. Other than that one issue, at 12k miles, have had no fits from it at all, really enjoying the experience!

You might have the broken clutch that has affected more than a few people. The clutch shouldn't be making any noise at all. You should take it in to the dealer for a check.

I did bring it in. They told me the linkage is just loud on these vehicles and the thinner firewall makes it more pronounced, and that the clicking while engaging gear is normal operation for it. I've heard dual mass clutches make that noise, but....im not convinced. He also told me it was ok my ic pipe clamps were a little loose. Sigh....
