Smoke and oil smell from exhaust

Hi all. New here to this forum and the RS but not new to cars and modding. I did a quick look here and have also done a quick search on Google with not much luck. I have a 2016 focus RS. It has 54k on it and this is a list of my mods. Catless down pipe. EtS intercooler radium duel catch cans as well as radium baffle. Injen intake and coils and 2 step colder plugs. Cobb AP and Cpe charge pipe with the tail BOV. My issue is and has been before I nodded the car about a month ago is on idle after car is warm or after a 20 to 30 mi. Drive then idle at lights I can start to smell an oil smell out the exhaust. I also noticed from a first gear slow pull away there is smoke coming out the exhaust. The recall was done on the head gasket. I just took the car to Ford for this issue and they say they cant find anything. Does anyone have this issue or know what a fix is for it. Or is this normal because I know there is talk on this subject a bit with the eco mustang's. I just want to be sure I'm not missing something. Coolant levels stay the same and I do lose a bit of oil but I have also been told that is common with the RS. The car pulls hard on the dyno giving me 330 at the wheels with the can'd Cobb tune also if I drive it hard the smell goes away. I have been told that the pcv can be a bit faulty and drip some oil back. But when I call Ford to ask if there was a recall on the PCV they said no. Any insight into this or link me to an already discussed topic would be a huge help

Welcome!

I have read and seen people having their PCV's replaced... not sure if it's been warrantied or not but it seems to be happening enough that it's a bit of an issue.

Thank you. And yes I was thinking that about the pcv as there is alot of chatter about it on the mustang forums. But also didnt know if it could be coming from the turbo. Maybe I will price out a new check valve and do it myself. Or see what others say as well. Thanks for the reply

Have you pulled the plugs to see if there's any oil in there?
Yes dry as a bone. They look perfect. It looks to be the turbo. A tech looked at it yesterday

Wow what happened?
They claim because itā€™s modified they wonā€™t cover it. But I had it in pre mods and they miss diagnosed it. So now I have to battle with them and Ford Canada

Is it possible to take the mod items off and take it to another dealer?
Not sure what my mods have to do with it. Thatā€™s why Iā€™m battling. Cold air intake intercooler. And downpipe. As well a Cobb access port that was purchased from that dealer and is on my bill of sale. With no mention that a Cobb access port will void my warranty. Having said that I actually think I have enough proof to get them to cover it. Fingers crossed

I find sometimes its much easier to take the items off than to battle these dealers and Ford. Either way good luck, hope you get them to cover it.

Thank god it was replaced under warranty. Did they finally find out what happened to the old motor?

Yes. It was the #4 piston. Had a cracked ring They have all replaced now. But when they fired it up there was a leak in the oil filter adapter so now we are just waiting on a seal
