I think they are more concerned with being cool than actually making wheels. Plus there can't be a high demand for their wheels, as they're pretty expensive. $280 for a cast wheel.

maybe on the they want to be cool thing. 280 bucks is actually nothing in the wheel world. Some very high quality wheels (volk, HRE etc) are litterally thousands per wheel. I love the 1552 look and to be honest my car is my daily so a few lbs of unsprung weight dont mean diddly to me, my car isnt a race car. Adding to that, the "purist" (thats funny to say in regards to fiestas) gets pissy about me having heavy wheels is all the more reason to have em.

some day Id love a fat five like 1552 makes.

Seems like Assetto Gara's are a very popular choice by us FiST owners. I have a 16" set in black for my winter wheels. I slid into a curb in the snow and they held up pretty well.

Do you know the weight of the original wheels (without tire) ?

Anybody running Sport Edition A10's?

I just ordered a set of 16" in bright silver. They were reasonably lightweight, proper hub size (so no stupid rings), and pretty well priced.

Hope your not planning to track with those, they probably will melt.

Ok, I will bite... Why would they melt?

I've used "sport edition" wheels for racing before, they are cheap and lightweight... for lightweight low hp cars they are perfect. Last thing I want to do is use an expensive set of rims on the track. I typically beat the shit out of my track wheels.

I am wrapping them in RE-71R's, and they are going to be a dedicated track wheel that gets swapped on at the events


Kind of reminds me of the people who used to caution me that Rota's would crack because they saw it on the internet... at 60$ a pop, they were a perfect track wheel. Beat the shit out of them, scratch them up, don't make you afraid to get close to the corners... what more could you want for a track rim? If you are not running 400hp through your wheels on a 4000lb car, they are fine.


Honestly though, if you have some sort of link that supports your claim that they will melt if tracked please go ahead and post it up.

Not sure about your wheels but I lost a set of Team Dynamic center caps while doing a track school last year I left the ESC full on for the first 1/2 lap then shut it off no biggy there but after a 20 minute session We came in to find the centers on the front soft and disfigured I think it is because of the heavy brake use of the Torque Vectoring I have to get two caps replaced and now I leave them off while tracking the car where it sees heavy cornering and braking forces. Your wheels may be different and maybe if I would have left my caps on till the wheels cooled they would have been out but they were sagging a wee bit already ..
