I would love to meet one day if the stars align and drive each other's cars, I am really curious about how your Stratified tune compares to my Tune+ tune. I had both on stock turbo and they were quite different....I've considered shelling out $400 for a Strat tune just to have another option but then my good sense returns to me.
Same here. It’s too bad pro tunes cost so much. I get it though.. I’d like to try Dizzy and Tune+ as well. The difference between JST and Stratifiedauto is significant.

Were you at the one in October at the open house? I remember seeing Daniel but I took off a little after lunch.
Sad but I am moving to Cleveland OH next Friday. I have family all over southeast including GA/NC/SC so I'm sure we will have a chance to meet up at some point. I am curious to see what the car will do on the JST dyno since I have a true baseline on it.

I sure am tired of all this moving....Raleigh > Milwaukee > Charlotte > Atlanta > Charlotte > Cleveland. And that is since 2015!
I wasn’t there. Daniel told me he was going I think he won a few awards. But I missed it.

I have recently become a part of a Facebook ST community in Houston, and over the last two weeks I have sold my stock wheels, a Cobb intake, and a oil catch can that I made to fit my FiST. If I decide that I like this option, I can likely and easily sell my x37. Definitely looking forward to more details.
I don’t have Facebook, but I’ve been wanting to connect with other FiST owners in Houston. Do y’all ever have meetups?

Sent an email to pumaspeed about their new inlet vs old inlet RE whistle noise, here is the exchange:

"It does reduce the noise yes but certainly doesn’t remove it, it’s a characteristic of that turbo. The only way to truly eliminate it is to run a closed air filter setup, but then you end up potentially compromising peak power.

I currently have a X47R turbo on my Fiesta with the intake elbow that was available at the time (http://pumaspeed.com/product-Intake-Elbow-for-X-Series-Hybrid-Fiesta-ST180-Turbo---46mm_16290.jsp) . I get a very loud whistling noise from about 30% to 70% throttle that originates from the intake system. I see you have a new intake elbow available (http://pumaspeed.com/product-Brand-New---Pumaspeed-Racing-Billet-CNC-Turbo-Inlet_17873.jsp). Do you know if this would make any change to the loud whistle noise? I have spent a bit of time, energy and money so far trying to mitigate this issue and I have not been overly successful. "


Figured folks may be interested in this info in the future.

Add me to the list of X47r failures, it lasted less than 30 seconds from start/idle before the dreaded white smoke out.
Primed the turbo?

That sucks, at least it's a seal and not catastrophic.

Mine smoked like a chimney for a couple KM's but I assumed it was the oil in my exhaust - all cleared up now.

New in original box, but I bought it 18 months ago and just got around to mounting it. So no legit warranty claim.

Yes, primed by the depress clutch and gas simultaneously and cranking for 10 seconds, then fired to idle on a custom base tune.

Anyone know if the seals and bearings are standard Ford parts?

Yes, primed by the depress clutch and gas simultaneously and cranking for 10 seconds, then fired to idle on a custom base tune.

Anyone know if the seals and bearings are standard Ford parts?
I would have primed it at least twice.

No one could tell me what the parts were - you'd have to have one disassembled to find out I think.

Not that it matters now....but did you do an Oil change before you primed to send fresh oil through? This is why I chose a Gen2 by the way....[emoji41]

We’re going to send one for rebuild Monday that I just had to remove for a customer after 3 months/2k miles due to failed oil seals, there’s a place in Dallas that will rebuild them fairly reasonable if you are interested.

Are you permitted to disclose the cost of replacing the seals? A ballpark is fine.. Do they offer a warranty as well?

Yes, I am interested. Have a lead on a race shop in Fla, but no info as to parts really hurts estimate.

Well that really helps no one. Makes no sense to send an out-of-warranty unit back to them so they can send it to their shop, then reverse the process, paying more shipping than the parts are worth.

I have an inquiry about this into Pumaspeed, will report back on what they decide to do. If they are going to require every unit be sent back to them for rebuild, prospective purchasers should know in advance.

He also reports that there is no option for obtaining parts, have to send the whole unit back to them for any repair, even oil seals.

I really wish I had understood how difficult they are with regard to parts, l would not go this route again, nor the first time.

Did you ask if they'd consider warranty, given your circumstances? FWIW, it cost me $120 to ship mine back to them, which is steep. My local Post Office is absolutely awful though. I wouldn't be surprised if you could send it for less.

Other option is have pumaspeed send you the parts that you think would be needed and have a local shop do the work. This way they can keep their super secret information intact.
