Lug nut suggestion for use with extended lugs

Hi everyone,
I seem to have messed up some of the threads on one of my lugs, so I will take the opportunity to replace them with some replacement ARP lugs from Whoosh. I'm planning on getting the 2.5" rounded nose lugs, and was wondering if anyone had had experience with these before. Current plans are to use Muteki SR48s like these, unless anyone had a better solution. The wheels come on and off quite a bit because I do ~20 autocross days per summer, and durability would be my biggest concern. Something that doesn't use a key would be easier.
Thanks!

I've been using those Mutekis for a couple years now, and I switched to them because I started swapping wheels at track events and the extra length was handy. They didn't round over on me during the year when I'd be taking the wheels off and on my car about 20 times with an impact, but I also replaced them every year or so. The finish is delicate, and the red or purple would mostly be silver by the end of the year. Use a deep impact socket, though. Or just switch to a basic short steel nut like these that I have on my track car: https://www.good-win-racing.com/Mazda-Performance-Part/61-2735.html

I don't track the Fiesta anymore, so the wheels haven't come off in months, but I'll keep using SR48s until I replace the hubs and studs again.

Im running the ARP studs with a rounded end that are technically for a late model gto. Same thread and pitch. And close to stock length too.

I have the muteki steel open lugs in black. The long version that is a hex shape. They are pretty beat up finish wise but still work perfect. ( btw its 17mm if you lose the key 😉) have never ever had a problem with ARP studs. The h&r studs gave out after one particularly bad winter.

I have had good luck with Gorilla acorn nuts with extended studs for a few years. Pretty durable but they use a key.

If price isn't a concern Acer Racing has titanium nuts in the correct size.

As far as actual, real titanium alloy lug nuts go, the Acers ARE the absolute most 'reasonable', if even those prices could ever be considered 'reasonable'. [wink] [thumb]

I am considering these myself for 'summer' lug nut use. [:)]

BTW; I just do not trust the 'splined' keyed lug nuts even for just non-frequently changed, street use, let alone for on-off MANY MANY times a year, autocross/open track/etc. use, but that's just me.
