1552 podium wheels w/215 45 R17 PS4S

I impulsively bought 1552 podium wheels in graphite (17x7.5 42mm offset) . It looks like the right tire size is 215 40 R17 but tires are limited in that size. With the offset increase (40-42 I think) can I get away with PS4S in 215 45 R17, stock suspension? Thanks for any help. I have a tuner to correct the speedometer. Also what are the best lugnuts to run with these wheels. I saw Kyle from boosted boiz couldn't use normal Lugnuts and fit under the cover. I still have stock failing Ford lugs currently. Please point me to a thread if applicable, sorry if this questions been asked.

Some on here who have actually run that size claim that they do not rub on factory suspension/ride height, even though I don't see how that is possible.

Hopefully they will chime in on the topic.

Those Michelins are 24.7" tall, but they are only 6.8" wide in tread width, so maybe even on a 7.5" wide, 42ET wheel, maybe they are correct. [dunno]

BTW; In normal times, when they had concerts there, I went to the Sellersville Theater all the time when my fave people played there.

I might take a chance on the Michelins. Tire selection is so bad for a 215 40 series. I miss concerts, my last was seeing Live! @ Parx Casino in Bensalem, PA 2/27ish 2020. I won tickets from 93.3 MMR.

that sounds real risky to me with stock suspension. maybe 215/45/17 hankook rs-4 would work w/ 24.4 diameter and 7.7 tread width. I ran dunlop z3 w/ 24.2 diameter height on 16x8 wheel +38, stock suspension and no rub.

rs-4's are real nice b/c typically they run shorter diameter in height and wider with than comparable tyres. for 200tw tires they last a lot longer. I would estimate they grip better than 300tw PS4 but give up on tread life a bit.

I'm convinced now, I need 215 40 tires. My ST will do less then 3K mi per year, I have a modern F150 for weather/split daily duties. I will get Blizzaks for the stock wheels. Yokohama ADVAN NEOVA AD08 R - SIZE: 215/40R17 look perfect but are back ordered. I'm okay with over tiring the car I want to get into autocross here in the Northeast looks like fun.

If you want to autoX, falken azenis 660 is hard to beat. Yoko A052 if you feel like splurging. Both should be avail 215/40/17.

RS-4 and Dunlop Z3 good for HPDE tire that wont get hot with repeated laps but probably not as optimized for autoX.

I wouldn't bother with PS4 for autoX. Trying to get rid of mine on my camero for some goodyear supercar 3.

I'm Thinking about dipping my toe in autocross but I need a tire I can rely on in the wet. They look pretty track focused. Do you have an opinion on the AD08 or a similar tire that will be okay in the wet

ad08 is an older tire from yokohama. you might as well get the newer tire from them which is the a052. some might disagree, but I think unless you're using the tire for competition, the 660s are a stronger value.

it rarely rains where im at but never had issues w 200tw tires in the rain. I just slow down a bit more. azenis 660 are fun as a daily because they're so responsive. Have them on my daily beater civic hybrid w/ koni yellows and swift springs and love them. Had Z3s on that car which I like and the Firehawk 500s which I don't quite care for because the steering feedback is too vague imo. firehawk 500s are popular for the budget minded but personally unimpressed.

Isn't it section width that should be considered vs tread width when determining fitment?

FWIW I run 205/40 on Fifteen52 wheels. I'd like a little more tire but it doesn't look stretched on there at all. Much better selection in 205 if you're open to it. I'm dying to get a set of NT01s in this size.

Also, discount tire's website (near me at least) says they can get 660s in 215/40 within a week. Falken 615k+ are good too, I ran them once and wouldn't hesitate to get them again.

100%. The advertised size should be taken with a grain of salt, the tire specs are what you should be looking at. A 205 Falken is not the same as a 205 Federal, etc. The RT660 is marked as a 215 but is honestly closer to a 225, it completely fills out my 16x8 Deka

^^^The Nankang NS-2R and AR-1 are even wider yet in a 215/45-16, in BOTH section AND tread width.

But yes, the 660s are the sweetest out of the big(ger) name brands in that size.

Federal RS series also a good alternative to 660s and also cheaper.
Im lowered and currently running 17x8.5 ET42 on 215/40 Federals and im barely threading the needle on fitment. A bit more camber will fix it completely. With stock height, you wont have problems fittting anything below those specs.
