OH be under no illusion, the 'yank tank' is alive and kicking here too. If you park a Range Rover in a UK space, it fills it to all 4 corners of the space leaving no room for occupants to actually get out. The number of large SUVs around is scary!!!
Cars and people are bigger but we've less road space, smaller car parking spaces, more expensive fuel blah blah blah. It's madness and it isn't slowing down, unlike the traffic which is grinding to a halt.
The Puma is a good size for 1 person and is a useful size for UK/European roads. Heck the Kia Sportage/Hyundai Tucson we've had the last 4 trips to the USA have been more than big enough for what we needed over there and even they are overkill for here yet both count as a medium normal size family class car.
As i said, this is largely based on the MK8 Fiesta and inherits most of that cars road manners and size. I think you sit 6cm higher up!
https://www.carsized.com/en/cars/compare/ford-fiesta-2017-5-door-hatchback-vs-ford-puma-2019-suv/ that shows it nicely.
I think we've another 1 or 2 USA road trips to do, no doubt they will be done in another Sportage, the rental companies love them and tbh as beige touring transport they are superb.
