205/45 is the proper fitment, no? I currently have Conti Extreme Contact Sports, and they are very good tires. I plan to move to Hankook RS-4s next season because they have a wider tread and handle heat better. Do you have a specific reason for the sizes you mentioned?

I happen to have a new set of 205/45R16 Kook RS4's cheap (paid $560, sell for $300) if interested. Looking for more grip/performance in a 200WR package on 16" wheels.

205/50 is 24.06" diameter. 205/45 is 23.27" diameter, while stock is 23.46". 225/45 is 23.98", but may be too wide for the fenders.

There are very few options but 215/45/16 is actually the closest to stock size. BFG Rival and RT615K+ are both decent 200tw options. I'm thinking of trying the federal ST-1 as a wet race/daily tire.

Or you can drop down to 15x7 and run 205/50r15 if you want a better selection in tires for grip. They have NT-05, Advan AD08R, Proxes R888R, Potenza RE-71R, and Azenis RT615K+.

Seems fine to me. I'm running it on mine with no issues.
As mentioned... The wheel size limitation is +1 to -1 in diameter compared to the OEM size... so the 15ā€ tire allowed would not fit the 16ā€ wheel minimum ;-) but I agree it would be better, if it didnā€™t move me into STH class... for now. Trying to resist having to compete with a Golf R and such with the same preparation level. :-(

anyone here with a one inch drop using toyo r888r?
I have a set going on in the spring. On swift springs. I would run either 215/45/16 or 225/45/16. Both should have minimal rub even lowered an inch.

205/45R16 RE71R and the lightest possible 16x7 wheel you can find for an HS setup. There is no need to go up in aspect ratio since the car already has plenty of gear in 2nd. 205/45 is the closest to stock height you can get that wont dumb down the turn in feel.

I ran the Dunlop Direzza ZIII 225/45R16 tires on RPF1 16" rims on my HS car and it was fantastic. No rubbing issues ever, I liked having a slightly wider contact pattern for auto X.
Im dropped 1" around on Swift lowering springs btw, what are you dropped on?

Well since I use the car in HS I am still on factory springs. I did put the same wheel and tire setup on my blue car which has MeisterR GT1 coilovers and did not run into any rubbing issues on that car either. But I do have the front camber at -2.5 degrees so that probably helped in the front for sure. I would say you are probably safe with running that tire on your car, worst case scenario you gotta buy camber bolts for the front.

There is no need to go to the 50 aspect, but they are $28.09 per tire cheaper so $112.36 per set savings. (as of price today on Tirerack)
If you pay sales tax theres another $5-$10 saved.
