For me, it is the hot RS hatch they released right after that one, yup, the Escort Cossie RS (the AWD system is just 'icing'!). [wink] [driving]

Even more so is the RS200, but those are so rare (and $$$$$$$) nowadays that they make the proverbial hen's teeth in a unicorn's mouth a common thing. [:(]
Yeah the ECos is an awesome care also, I love those. Especially with the AWD and later big turbo versions, but looks wise I think the Sierra is just perfect in Cosworth trim. Could be because I had a Merkur I made a Cossie clone so I know what they look like in real life whereas I haven't seen an ECos in real life.

The body changes in the Cosworth version of the Sierra just make it look so much better. It's along the line of the US version of the Mitsubishi Lancer. You see the non EVO version and its a totally boring basic sedan, but the EVO is awesome looking and a total change. Same deal with the Sierras.

I FULLY agree with the bolded above! [thumb]

I did see a REAL RS500 once here in the states, at an SCCA Trans Am race at Lime Rock.
It was a white one, parked in the paddock, next to one of the race team's spots.

I've only seen any 'ECos' in person, in fully prepped rally guise;
Carl Merrill's, which was probably the first one of any type here in the states, at Maine Forest Rally, and STPR (later, in '99 after Carl's untimely death, it was driven in tribute by none other than STIG BLOOMQVIST at the Maine rally that year! Needless to say, that even at his age, he DOMINATED that event! [wink]).

A few campaigned by some ex-pat Russian crews, and most recently by Ken Block (I was working the stage where he crashed and burnt his first one to the ground at the '18 NEFR).

Yes you're butthurt, butthurt over nothing.

That's why you're so sensitive thinking people are sensitive because they see how sensitive you are. :LOL:

I'll talk about FoSTs all I want and you can't stop me. Now you realize that, you can chill out and stop being so butthurt. :cool:
lol the internet. :ROFLMAO:

That's awesome. I know there are some real Sierra Cossies roaming around the states, I've heard rumors of them sometimes turning up at the Fabulous Fords Forever Show at Knott's Berry Farm in SoCal each April (not this year obviously). I hope to take my FiST next year. Hopefully see some rarities.

The Escort and Seirra Cosworths are interesting looking cars, but I can't call them beautiful, let alone even good looking...it's kinda like the McLaren Senna. It grows on you and may be beautiful on the engineering side, but best looking? And the RS200 obviously isn't a hatchback so doesn't count here

You're entitled to your (wrong) opinion :LOL:. Really though, all different tastes. I think the RS200 is decent looking but an engineering and performance monster that I love, but the Sierra Cosworth is absolutely beautiful in my eye.

Best looking hatchback ever? Sierra RS Cosworth, by far. And since it was a product of the 80's they had pitifully undersized wheels, so when you lower them just a bit and put proper wide wheels on them they look incredible. I'd trade my FiST for one in a heartbeat, and I love my FiST.
Imma have to disagree with you. The 1st gen Mazda 3 hatchback is what sold me on hatches when I was a kid. Gen 1 Mazdaspeed3s are still on my ‘must own at some point’ list.

I imagine it’ll be like a lighter Focus ST with skinnier tires and more torque.

The proverbial 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder' quote comes to mind here.

I.E.; some (OK, many) think that MKIVs were god's aesthetic gift to the automotive kingdom (mainly transference due to the TT version's seemingly unlimited 'mod-ability', although I guess some of the devout worshipers of the marque out there really believed it), as well as the Veyron and it's evolutions/variants (because of it's outright performance numbers).

I personally think that they are BOTH fugly as sin, regardless of how 'blindingly fast' they may be, or are capable of being modded to be (as in the Pupra's case).

And sorry, but in tarmac rally trim the Cossie RSes did look pretty darned wicked;

But then again there's that old subjective 'looks' thing. LOL

This car looks incredible. I even love the double wing on the back.

Yeah the double wing was a Ford pre-production idea that they made a few samples of, but obviously never went into full production. I've never cared for that Oz rally type wheel on the Cosworth Fords that seem to be super popular in the UK. That's just me though

^^^That's the exact wheel I would have on one if I could ever own one. [wink]

Although they do look pretty good with the 5 spoke Compomotive MO style wheels as well. [thumb]

I gotta admit its a nice looking car I think the Triple wing detracts from its looks though. without the two top tiers it could pass for something out of BMW’s lineup. Very sharp car somehow the Merkur XR4ti just did not look as nice.

Well, the Merkur XR4ti was the US version of the Sierra, not an Escort. But, yes, that was my point comparing base model cars. The Cosworth trim SIerras were MUCH MUCH better looking. Seen here in the best color: Moonstone Blue. Note that this car has an RS500 front splitter ad look to be lowered a bit.

^^^The 'regular' production (there were only 5000 of them made, per, and to fulfill, FIA Group A regulation requirements), and full rally spec versions of the Escort Cosworth RS did not have that middle wing, and the latter 'WRC' versions only had a lower, single plane (a la Evo) wing.

There were only 5000 Escort Cosworths made? I thought there were more.

I know there were only 5000 Sierra Cosworths made plus 500 of teh RS500's

They may have gone a bit over the FIA's requirement of 5K minimum, but not much over (this is for the big wing earlier RS, I'm not sure how many road going versions of the latter rules WRC cars were actually built, since they were not bound to a minimum build number, Group A homologation rule).

I can understand since (hot take incoming) those wheels are not that good looking. Only certain cars and/or colors can look good with them IMO, but when that happens it’s saying more about how good the car looks than how good the wheels look.

All a matter of that personal taste/subjective opinion thing again, of course. [:)] [thumb]

I happen to not like the aesthetics of 10 spoke 'paired spoke' wheels (i.e.; 6ULs, RPF1s, etc.) at all, on anything, even though they are very fully well LOVED by so many on here. [wink]
