Finally got ahold of some TD 1.2 in 15x8 with 225/45/15 RS4's Rides better looks better performance is better a fuk ton of win going on! Thx guys!
Are you at stock ride height? I want to do the same thing but I have Swift springs which are about an inch lower. I'm worried about rubbing.

Im currently on Swift/B8s and 15x8(offset is +35) and 225 RS4's with ZERO rub even at track speeds. You will be perfectly fine.

Ive run the following combos on Swifts without any rubbing issues on track, around town and canyon carving:
17x7 +49 and 205/40R17
17x7 +43 and 205/40R17
16x8 +40 and 205/40R16
16x8 +40 and 215/45R16
15x7 +42 and 205/50R15
15x8 +35 and 225/45R15

current two setups are 16x8/215's and 15x8/225's as listed above.

^^^I am still hesitant to even mount the 225/45 A052s onto the Dekagrams I have sitting in the cellar, until I hear from more who have done a tire that wide in tread width, on those wheels, without major rubbing, even at factory ride height. [:(].

Out of all the combinations you have run, what's worked best for the track? I know in your build thread you were saying the weight of the 17's wasn't helping. curious between 16's and 15's performance with the taller sidewall with the smaller rim - is it noticeable?

oh what work did you do?

imagine it was challenging getting clearance from suspension
The inside of the tire misses the front spring by about 1/4”. It’s close but no contact. I removed as many bolts from the fender attachment point as possible and pulled the fender out as far as I could. I also rolled and pulled them on the outside edge. After doing that, I cut the the lower fender mounting area off from the bottom to just below the lower guide peg. I drilled out that peg and ran a short stainless bolt through the hole to keep the third mounting point. I also need to hammer the bulging area back because the taller tire rubs that when it bottoms out. I’ll probably cut/weld that instead of hammering it so I can move it higher, cleanly. Once you take the front bumper off and get under there it’ll make more since. Here’s a couple of pics. The lower pic is what I need to raise about 1/4”. Other than that they didn’t hit anything after I cut the inside of the fender as seen in the top pic. You’ll also notice how many bolts were removed in that pic. I also removed the front mounting bolt on the top that isn’t seen in the pic.

Factory suspension??

Sometimes I regret not getting those, or another +42ET (or more) 16x7 to run the 205/50 Neo Gens on, since my daily driver16x8, 40ET Dekagrams rub at times, even on the factory suspension setup. [:(]

I also am not a big fan of their 'poke', especially on the back axle, with these tires, even though that is one of the reasons everyone on here loves them.
A 1.0" narrower, and lesser offset wheel would not have that effect.

I don't think they are still around* I'd be suprised if they still own their FiST. There is a noticeable difference in comfort but at the price of crisp response and turn in due to the taller sidewall.

I'm not the one you quoted, but I recently went from factory 17s to 205/50/r16.

significant improvement in ride. soaks up bumps better, and takes the edge off potholes. (i also run lower pressure than stock as there is more tire). more grip as well.

turn in does feel slightly worse, but it's really not very noticeable. For daily driving not a big deal, for track use maybe more of a deal.

also looks wayyyy better IMO

if you want to retain turn in on 16’s stick with 45 series some of us run width section width ( actual measured vs sidewall stated 205’s some run 215’s some even go slightly narrow section width 225/45’s add some negative front camber in the mix and you will totally not notice much if any turn in difference from stock.
