Media player going black

Hi ive got a 17 plate fiesta st and my media is going black and then comes on for 1 minute and goes off again is there anyway i can fix this problem myself

I press and hold the traction control button. Then the screen pops back on and shows the count down to completely disable traction control. Works good after that. Maybe it's a related glitch.

I've had this happen once and I fixed it by disconnecting the battery and letting it sit like that for a while.
