Unique Clutch Pedal Vibration/Scraping Feeling and Heaviness in Gear

So this seems like a pretty unique issue and I cannot find anything on it. I’m taking it into the dealer next week but I want to have a pretty good idea of what could be going on out or preparation but also pure curiosity.
Car only has 4K miles on it. Completely stock except for an RMM. Lately, in between gears when shifting, both when depressing the clutch pedal and releasing the clutch pedal, I feel a vibration in the pedal, almost like the piece below where you actually put your foot is rubbing against the floor. However, I know it is not that, because when the car is not in gear, the pedal feels completely normal. However, as soon as I am in 1st and got 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd and so ok, I feel it. It almost makes the pedal throw feel heavier as well and it’s worse in higher gears.

Any ideas what this could be? Throwout bearing? Input shaft bearing? Pilot bearing? Warped clutch disc? Slave/master cylinder?

I was thinking it was either a pressure plate issue but the car being so new, I didn’t know if that was possible. My other thought then was something in the clutch hydraulics.

I’m interested to hear your opinions.

Just a silly question, as it took me a day to figure out why I had a funny feeling clutch pedal.

Have you recently installed floor matts?

The only reason I ask is my clutch pedal arm rubs on the Weathertech floor mats during the stroke, after a while the area has been rubbed smooth and I do not notice the feeling anymore after a couple years.

I initially thought it could be this too! Haha but then it is completely normal if the car is in normal and I am just pumping the clutch so it has to be something mechanical make it only happen in gear.

Under warranty? When the repair is done ask them! This could be a combination of all those things listed*
Yeah it’s under warranty thankfully. I’m just curious what others think, especially since I’ve met some dopes at ford dealers but I’m taking it to a new dealer this time so fingers crossed.

If they say it’s normal or not wrong, I will make sure to get that in writing so if it blows up outside of warranty, it’s not my money!

No sir. I’ve been driving manuals for years. I’ve honestly notice this problem at times since new and it would go away but this is the longest and most prominent it has been.

Hmm interesting. Is it normal for it to fail this early? Or could it have just always been defected from factory?
Not everything is perfect in manufacturing. I have seen a pallet of BAD batteries come in with another pallet of the same batteries and they all test out good.

Interesting! I will be sure to report back when I take it in Monday! They said their transmission guy will look at it.

Just got the call from the dealer. They said everything was normal and they could not feel it themselves. Shocker!

They vaguely blamed my Whoosh RMM for any sensation.

Did you go on a test drive with a Tech? I know how they work....if its warranty they will spend minimal time on yours because its not customer pay. Its what all dealers do. You need to REALLY need to go on a drive with Them. Good luck!

That’s the thing! I did drive with their “transmission specialist”. The tough thing was because it was a feeling and not a sound and it also happens after a lot of driving (30+) with a good amount of shifting so after I left and the car cooled and he finally got around to it, his trip around the block likely showed nothing. I even changed dealers hoping to get better service. Sadly not.

An extended Test drive is sometimes needed to get the vehicle to act up also. Keep us up to date with your findings!

If you’re interested. Just took it to a new dealer who did acknowledge it but claimed it was normal operation and just the feeling of the engine load coming on and off the clutch. Still seems like BS because it doesn’t explain why it doesn’t happen cold but at least I have it in writing.

I’m honestly quite discouraged but I’ve already taken it to the dealer 3 times. Think I should just drive it until it fails and complain until they cover it under warranty since I’ve made a paper trail?
