Not sure how many of you on here purchased extended warranties with your RS's, but I did. Figured it was a smart choice with this car and if I wanted to keep it for a while.
During my signing the paperwork at time of purchase of my car, I was given a Ford ESP pamphlet and went over the choices. I decided to go with the Premium Care plan, which is bumper to bumper, 7/years 100K.

I just had my car in for an inspection (FYI-I go to a different dealer than the one I bought if from for several reasons).
Warranties were brought up while I was talking casually with the asst service manager (I've grown a good car relationship with him at the dealer).
With this, I mentioned I purchased the ESP for my car... he looked at me confused. He went back to his computer, and right away said "no you didn't... there's no record of an ESP with your Ford account".

UM WHAT?????????

Right away I'm freaked out... I KNOW I signed paperwork for one and it added a few grand to the cost of the car. I even talked to my husband who was with me during the finance part of the car buying and he too thought I had been sold a Ford ESP.
At this point the asst service manager told me to call the dealership about it and he'd double-check with Ford.
So I did. This is what I found out:

I was sold an aftermarket warranty. Though I was slightly relieved I wasn't completely taken for a ride, I suddenly was pissed...
I was shown FORD ESP plans, but was then sold an aftermarket plan??????
That was BS and unacceptable. To make matters worse, the asst service manager I had been talking to said the company that I had one with sucked and used every trick in the book to deny claims and they stopped selling their plans and now ONLY sell Ford ones. I did some research online and yup, the reviews of the company were bad.

So over the last few days here I've been on the phone with the selling dealer, I am having them cancel the aftermarket plan and have been reviewing ACTUAL Ford ones and will be purchasing one of those.
The only good side to this whole thing is:
1. I found out now vs down the road, and
2. the cancelation process is pretty easy and I'll have the money deducted from the balance of the loan within 30 days.

Just goes to show you need to really watch what is going on.

That's awful, the best part about having Ford ESP is you get a loaner with any service that requires you leaving the car over night. Don't forget Ford ESP is negotiable.

This one did too... but with all it's "bells and whistles" if they don't pay a claim than who cares what the plan says!

I am actually waiting for the Ford ESP paperwork to get to my house via FedEx to sign.
This one is even better since I sort of customized it to my driving. AND I am getting it for a decent amount LESS than the aftermarket one!

Glad you caught that before your factory warranty expired.
My thoughts exactly... though this has been a pita I'm really glad the guy at my dealership told me about it, AND recommended a Ford ESP.

I got a deal and the PremiumCare was a little over $1,600
This is a full bells and whistles, bumper to bumper ESP. I also like how you can customize them for your driving. You can customize the year and mileage vs just getting a 7/100k.

There is a guy on another RS forum I belong to that owns an RS and sells Ford ESP warranties and ESM plans at a better price than anyone I have found. I can pass along his info if anyone is interested.
