I've searched the forums and spoke with Mountune and it seems there isn't much I can do about this. But recently at the RS Adrenaline Academy one of the cars I drove didn't experience this "feature". All the others did. So it gave me some hope.
The issue is that in traffic when I'm releasing the clutch from a stop without adding any throttle, the engine revs from idle to 1200 automatically! It causes the car to accelerate too quickly when I'm trying to go very slowly in traffic. It's very annoying and requires that I slip the clutch more than normal and use the clutch more than usual. It's annoying, tiring, and negatively impacts my clutch. Eric from Mountune said that a tune isn't available to remove this "anti-stall feature". I am so frustrated by how many features are added to "manual" cars these days. I buy a manual to drive a manual. Synchros were an awesome addition but I don't need rev-matching or hill assist or rev-hanging or any of that shit. I enjoy learning how to drive the car. I'm glad we can easily defeat the hill assist and that the RS doesn't have rev-matching. I have not experienced the rev-hanging problem that others seem to have. But I almost always drive in track mode with standard suspension.
Anyway, I've never owned an automatic and have 4 other cars I drive regularly so it is difficult to get used to large differences. I also live around NY City so traffic is common. I'd hate to leave the RS home when I know I will be a lot of traffic at some point during my drive.
Thanks for any advice to help me out!
